Kentucky Colonel Mary Kay



Mary Kay Gilbertson has been named a Kentucky Colonel in recognition of her service with the Christian Appalachian Project's disaster relief efforts on the Mississippi Gulf Coast during the months of September and October 2005. MaryKay spent three weeks and over 230 hours helping the people of the Ocean Springs/Biloxi area after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina. Her major tasks were distributing food and supplies to people with tremendous needs. Some of her most valuable service was that of being a good listener for people who felt the need to tell someone their often traumatic stories

The highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky is that of Kentucky Colonel.
